Emmanuel is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). He attended College in Oklahoma, originally starting out as a Computer Information Systems major and later pivoting to nursing, having experienced firsthand, the impact that timely and quality care can have on a person. Upon receiving his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2007, Emmanuel spent a lot of years caring for patients with varying degrees of medical and pscyho-social issues in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Throughout his experience in the ICU, Emmanuel observed that his patients needed psychiatric care as much as medical care for their full recovery. In 2016, Emmanuel completed a graduate study in Advanced Practice Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio earning a PMHNP certification.

She has a strong passion in the treatment and management of mental health and in the health education of patients. She was motivated to become a Family Nurse Practitioner early in her nursing career wishing to fulfil a drive to meet the needs of her patients. In her current Family Practice, she has seen an increasing need for patient access to mental health services. Therefore, she applied and was granted acceptance into the University of Texas Tyler Health Science Center of Nursing into their Post-Masters Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification Program in August of 2022 and completed her certification in December of 2023. This dual certification allows for an opportunity of integrated care and treatment of the whole person. Mrs. Godsy is an active and participating member in several professional nursing organizations which include Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners, and North Harris Montgomery Advanced Practice Nurse Society. She has provided preceptorships to teach upcoming family Nurse Practitioners from multiple universities within the state of Texas.
